Bump in the polls
"We are going to give George W. Bush the greatest bump ever!" James "Chip" DiPaula told Republican leaders from across the country.
DiPaula, the 2000 GOP convention manager, told Republican National Committee members at their annual meeting that preparations for the event are on schedule and promised that the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia will be the most enjoyable and productive meeting in the party's history.
Philadelphia was selected from an original field of eight cities after a comprehensive six-month review. Members of the site selection committee visited all cities that submitted bids and then returned to the five finalists for a second look. The other finalists were Indianapolis, New Orleans, New York, and San Antonio.
