2000GOP.com joined forces with The Washington Center's college interns to bring you the best behind-the-scenes coverage from this year's national convention. The following students are assigned to 2000GOP.com and will be gathering information from 200 other students here in Philadelphia.
Roger Mullins is a native of Virgie, Kentucky, entering his senior year at Pikeville College in Pikeville, Kentucky. He has completed a major in English and is currently completing the coursework for a B.A. in history. Roger plans to attend graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. in modern American history, the prime reason he is participating in the Campaign 2000 program. He has worked in the journalistic field for three years and is currently a freelance writer based in Pikeville, Kentucky. He is a member of the P.C. academic team and Phi Beta Lambda and plays trombone in the symphonic, jazz, and pep bands.
Tammy Geron is originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky and attends Midway College in Midway, KY. She is seeking a bachelors degree in Business Administration and an associates degree in Computer Information Systems. Entering her senior year at Midway, Tammy will server as Student Government Association President and be a member of the intercollegiate soccer and basketball teams. While attending the 2000 Republican National Convention Tammy hopes to gain a more complete understanding of the role conventions play in the political process. She is grateful for this opportunity for learning and leadership made available by 2000GOP.com, the Washington Center, and Midway College.Sarah Brand is a native of St. Louis, Missouri in her final year of study at Texas Christian University. She is an English/French double major and a Journailsm minor. Needless to say, she loves speaking and writing. Sarah's other passion is movies. She is very excited to be attending the Republican Covention and contributing her ideas and information to 2000GOP.com.
Stephanie Chiasson is from the small southern of Thibodaux, Louisiana. She is currently a sophomore at Louisiana State University and is majoring in Business and Information Systems and Decision Sciences. At LSU, Stephanie is active in her sorority, Phi Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega, and is a member of honorary clubs and College Republicans.Stephanie is very excited about attending the 2000 National Republican Convention!
Romney Hogaboam hails from Lewiston Idaho. He studies electrical engineering and political science at the University of Idaho in Moscow. His career goals include working as a professional engineer to finance his political aspirations of election to the US House. He served as a page in the Idaho State House of Representatives in 1997 and that really anchored his interest in the political arena.Through the convention experience he desires to see more of how the political process works, make connections and friendships that will be mutually beneficial in coming years, and further round out his collegiate education. His hobbies include active church participation, a love of fly fishing, and computers.
