Welcome
to 2000GOP.com!
 I'm Erik Hromadka... creator and owner of this
independent site on Republican campaigns.
2000GOP.com started with our bid to bring the 2000 Republican
National Convention to Indianapolis. When Philadelphia was chosen,
I decided to continue the site as an on-line experiment in new
political media.
About 50,000 people stop by each month and another 5,000 subscribe
to NewsFlash! (Join them by entering your e-mail address in the
box at the left) You'll join an exclusive group that includes
grassroots Republicans, party leaders, campaign staff, elected
officials, political media and many others who follow this process
of choosing our country's leaders.
Together, we've gone through the ups and downs of the 2000 election
cycle... from the Iowa Straw Poll through the national convention
to the last hanging chad.
Now it's time to enter a new era of Republican leadership. With
the narrowest of margins in the Congress, there's a great opportunity
to forge agreement on the basic conservative values that a majority
of Americans support. It will be exciting to watch that happen.
A few words about my background... after graduating from Valparaiso
University in 1988, I've actually tried to use my majors of journalism
and political science.
I have written for more than 40 publications; interviewed people
ranging from Newt Gingrich and P.J. O'Rourke to Ellen DeGeneres
and the world's first forensic entomologist (guess that covers
some sort of spectrum!) and worked on several newspapers.
I've also worked on dozens of Republican campaigns from mayoral
contests to presidential races as both official staff and an
outside consultant. I've designed campaign plans, written speeches,
produced TV spots, passed petitions and planted yard signs. I've
been to victory parties and sat at home with candidates who lost.
Hopefully that gives you some sense of who I am and what this
site is all about. I trust you'll add it to your list of favorites
and visit here often.
